From Backyard to Poolside: A Look at One of Our Summer Pool Projects
There’s nothing quite like watching a backyard completely transform over the course of a pool installation. This summer, our Wapsie Pines team completed this in-ground fiberglass pool project, bringing together the pool, patio, seating areas, slide, and finishing details to create one complete outdoor space.
And the finished result is one we’re pretty excited about!
The Pool: A 40-Foot Bondi Fiberglass Pool
At the center of the project is a Barrier Reef 40 Bondi fiberglass pool in the color Ocean.
The large footprint gives this family plenty of room to swim, play, entertain, and spend summer days together without the maintenance that can come with other types of pools.
To make everyday pool use even easier, we installed a Coverstar automatic pool cover in Royal Blue. With the push of a button, the pool can be covered when it isn't being used, adding convenience and an additional layer of safety to the backyard.
And because every great family pool needs a little fun, this one also includes an S.R. Smith TurboTwister slide!
Creating the Pool Deck
The hardscaping around a pool plays a huge role in how the finished backyard looks and functions. For this project, we used Unilock Brussels pavers in Sandstone throughout the pool deck. The lighter, neutral color creates a clean look around the Ocean-colored pool while giving the family plenty of usable patio space.
To add contrast and definition, the patio features a double soldier row of Unilock pavers in Burgundy Red. Around the pool itself, we installed Unilock Brussels Fullnose coping in Sandstone, creating a finished transition between the pool and surrounding patio.
Adding Built-In Seating
Rather than stopping at the pool and patio, we incorporated seat walls into the design to provide additional places to gather around the pool. The seat walls were constructed using Unilock Brussels Dimensional Block in Sandstone, keeping them consistent with the rest of the hardscape. A Burgundy Red Copthorne accent row adds another layer of detail and ties the seat walls back into the darker accents used throughout the patio. The walls are finished with Unilock Ledgestone coping in Buff, creating a comfortable and polished seating surface.
Thinking About an In-Ground Pool?
If an in-ground fiberglass pool has been on your wish list, starting the conversation early gives you more time to think through the entire space—not just the size and color of your pool.
Our Wapsie Pines team can help with the pool installation as well as the surrounding patio and outdoor living features, allowing everything to be planned together from the beginning.
